Baking! Go on make biscuits with them, or at the very least Rice Crispie Buns

A well-stocked arts and crafts cupboard can be a lifesaver on a bad weather day. Make sure to have basic materials such as glue, glitter, coloured cards, markers, crayons, pipecleaners, children's scissors, paints and stickers. Put an oilcloth on the kitchen table or aprons on the kids (or both!) and let their imaginations run riot.
- Go on a Heritage trail in your area for the day by exploring the Museums and art galleries and heritage centre in your area or visit another area that you haven't been to before.
Last but not least don’t forget to enjoy rain too. Put on your wellies and raincoat, park your car and go for a rainy walk, and jump in those puddles, along the sides of Shannon River or forest walk and afterwards line up somewhere nice to stop for a warm bowl of soup or a nice coffee and a hot chocolate or bambinoccino for the children.
And, if you don’t feel like leaving the house at all, we have some great ideas for entertaining kids at home
